Take your own receipt collection offline

A downloaded copy can help when you need a receipt without an internet connection or without signing in again. The useful result is a local collection you have actually opened and checked.
BuyKeep Offline provides a searchable copy with your receipt photos and PDFs. Prepare it while you have internet access, then test the downloaded copy on the device you intend to use.

1. Check the collection you want to take
Save the receipts you need and review their purchase details. Pick one familiar receipt as a test: you should know which document and details you expect to find later.
The export reflects the collection at the time it is created. A receipt added or corrected afterwards will need a new export to appear in your local copy.
2. Finish the export and download
Start the export in BuyKeep and wait until it is ready to download. Complete the download before leaving the app or disconnecting. A started export or a download link is not yet a copy on your device.
Keep the downloaded collection together and remember its location. Open the local copy using the instructions provided with the export. The view you already have open in the online app is a different thing.
3. Open a receipt without internet access
Open the downloaded copy, search for your chosen receipt and open its photo or PDF. Check that you can read the document as well as its purchase details.
Then try the same local copy without an internet connection on the device you plan to use. If something is missing or does not open, reconnect, check the source collection and complete a fresh download before relying on it.
4. Keep a clear version and storage location
Note when you created the copy. Replace or clearly distinguish older copies after significant changes or before a trip. Check which version you are opening instead of assuming the most recent browser window is the latest export.
The copy contains your documents outside your PlenDesk account and opens without signing in. Store it where only the intended people can access it. Review its contents before sharing it. BuyKeep does not automatically update a copy you have already downloaded.
Before relying on the copy
- Is the offline copy the same as the online app?
- No. It is a downloaded snapshot for finding and reading the exported information. It is not a promise of offline editing or automatic synchronisation with your account.
- Will a new receipt appear in an older copy?
- No. Create and download a new export after saving the changes you want to take with you.
- Is seeing the export as ready enough?
- You still need to complete the download and open the local copy. Finding a known receipt and reading its document checks more than the export status alone.

Try these steps on the device you will actually use.
- Required receipts and details saved.
- Export completed and download finished.
- Local storage location and export date known.
- A familiar receipt found in the downloaded copy.
- Its photo or PDF opened and readable without internet.
- Older versions distinguishable and storage access appropriate.
This is a snapshot of your collection. Keep the online entries current and make a new export when you need an updated copy.
